"La Última Profecía"

¿Cuándo se formó la banda y quienes son sus integrantes?
La banda  se va formando en el 98 , Comencé a trabajar en el proyecto con Leo Damico, el primer vocalista de Damnation, luego se sumaron Loppizzo en batería y Leopardi en guitarras. Esa formación estuvo para “One” el maxi de presentación y “Before the Storm” , y para el álbum “Another Life” y fue la que mas larga vida tuvo. El lapso de fines del 2002 y verano del 2003 hubo un cambio de integrantes, entro Ariel Gomez en la voz y Faby Spataro en la batería, pero eso duro muy poco tiempo.
En la actualidad la banda la voy a manejar de manera mas  solista, el único miembro fijo por ahora es el nuevo cantante Jorge Diaz y habrá músicos invitados.

¿De que grupos reciben influencias?
Yo escucho mucho Fates Warning, amo esa banda, cosas progresivas como Liquid Tension Experiment, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Iron Maiden, amo a Steve Harris!!!, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera. También escucho jazz moderno y muchos bajistas como Stu Hamm, Marcus Miller y mucha música de películas, ya que también me gusta componer música para cortos...

A comienzos del 2001 editan su primer disco titulado “Another Life”(“Otra Vida”) ¿ Podrías describirme como fue el proceso de grabación del disco?
El disco se grabo de a poco y con mucho esfuerzo, ya que en este país no existen productores artísticos que  dominen el sonido Prog Power, entonces es como que tuvimos que arreglarnos solitos.
De cualquier manera  quedamos muy satisfechos con los resultados obtenidos si tienes en cuenta que se gasto poco y nada para la grabación ya que lo hicimos en Perfect Symetry que es mi mini estudio de grabación, ese mismo disco en un estudio grande hubiese salido unos 10.000 dólares!

El disco posee 10 canciones semi-conceptuales. Me gustaría que hagas un breve comentario de cada uno de los temas, explicándonos de que hablan los temas y de cómo fue la composición en la parte musical.
De acuerdo.

“Omen 1” (“Profecia 1”): Es la intro de disco , viene en una atmósfera de película y hay un fragmento cantado que queda inconcluso y se completa en “La Profecía 2” al final del disco... me encanta esa intro.

“The Road” (“El Camino”): Es un tema en la veta Prog Power, pero con una raíz en el estilo “Aces High” de Iron Maiden, rápido y aguerrido, habla sobre la opción que tenemos en la vida , en tomar decisiones...

“Ghosts” (“Fantasma”): Esta es una canción hermosa, es mas progresiva y tiene una atmósfera un tanto Queensryche, habla sobre lo desconectados que estamos los seres humanos, sobre lo poco solidarios  que a veces somos y la metáfora dice que somos eso... fantasmas.

“Wainting in Silence” (“Esperando en Silencio”): Este tema habla sobre la muerte de nuestro planeta, de cómo lo destruimos nosotros que somos sus hijos, es una canción en la veta mas Rapshody y tiene un galope rítmico tipo “Somewhere in Time” de Iron Maiden.

“Another Life” (“Otra Vida”): Es el que le da el nombre al álbum. Es muy progresivo, mas Dream Theater, Fates Warning, un estribillo muy dulce con guitarras eléctricas y acústicas... habla sobre una segunda oportunidad en nuestras vidas. En probar una y otra vez, en intentar...

“Marcha de San Lorenzo”: Que se puede decir? Una canción Patria muy poderosa!!!

“Words of the soul” (“Las Palabras de un Alma”): Es un tema conceptual de 25 minutos. Una historia sobre un hombre que despierta con los ojos vendados y que lo están llevando hacia algún lado y el no recuerda porque esta allí y ahí empieza la película... Esta muy bueno a nivel musical tiene muchas partes diferentes a medida que se desarrolla la historia. Es lo mas parecido a una música de película pero sin imagen.

“Easy Election” (“La Elección Fácil”): Es un tema de galope estilo Iron Maiden / Angra... Es la historia de un viejo que habla sobre las decisiones equivocadas que tomo en su vida...

“Tears of the Rain” (“Lagrimas de la Lluvia”): Es, quizás, la canción mas estilo Dream Theater del disco, dura 10 minutos, así que tiene un amplio desarrollo de rítmica y estructuras, pero básicamente es muy melódica. En la letra, la lluvia aparece como metáfora de cambio. Esta es una canción que amo.

“Omen 2” (“Profecía 2”): Es el cierre de “Profecía 1”, en esta parte se continua el relato y ahí cierra
el disco.

¿Cómo fue la aceptación del público local al presentar su material en inglés?
Yo realmente , no note algo en contra del idioma ingles, creo que los oyentes de este estilo saben que la banda siempre intento colarse  en el exterior y mostrar algo del Prog Power argentino en otros lados.

¿Dicho material fue editado en el exterior?
Hemos tenido ofertas de distribución pero los contratos eran un desastre... son unos fenicios allá también! Optamos por no firmar y seguir la carrera de manera independiente.

En el 2002 editan un EP titulado “Oscura Dimensión” que es un adelanto de lo que será el próximo álbum de la banda, y está cantado en español. ¿Cómo va a ser el disco y por qué el cambio de idioma?
El disco nuevo va a ser bastante diferente a “Another”. Posee una composición mas moderna si vale el termino. Es menos Power y mas moderno-progresivo... pero no va a perder ni el factor fuerza ni tampoco la melodía , es simplemente un paso musical hacia delante de la banda y mío, en lo personal, ya que soy el compositor de la música y las letras.

¿Cómo se puede conseguir su material?
En disquerías de Lomas de Zamora, en Lanús , o a pedido desde mail o la pagina de la banda.
El nuevo disco estará editado profesionalmente y vamos a intentar ponerlo en mucho mas lugares de Buenos Aires.

¿Qué planes futuros tienen?
El primer objetivo ahora es hacer el disco. Luego mi intención es armar un Damnation para salir a mostrar el material, para lo cual estoy buscando guitarristas y  bateristas interesados, pero seguro que serán pocas presentaciones pero de gran calidad, no queremos darle a nuestro publico un show con 20 bandas, lo cual creo que es un abuso al publico y a sus oídos!!

When was it formed the band and who your members are? 
The band goes being formed in the 98, I Began to work in the project with Leo Damico, the first vocalist of Damnation, then Loppizzo was added in drums and Leopardi in guitars. That formation was for "One" the presentation maxi and "Before the Storm", and for the album "Another Life" and it was the one that but it releases life it had. The lapse of ends of the 2002 and summer of the 2003 there was a change of integral, I enter Ariel Gomez in the voice and Faby Spataro in the drums, but that hard very little time. 
At the present time the band will manage it in way but soloist, the only fixed member for the time being is the new singer Jorge Diaz and there will be invited musicians. 

That groups receive influences? 
I listen to a lot of Fates Warning, master that band, progressive things as Liquid Tension Experiment, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Iron Maiden, I love to Steve Harris!!!, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera. I also listen jazz modern and many bassoonists as Stu Hamm, Marcus Miller and a lot of music of movies, since also I like to compose music for short... 

At the beginning of the 2001 you do publish their first titled disk "Another Life" ("Otra Vida") could you describe I eat up the process of recording of the disk it was? 
The disk you records little by little and with a lot of effort, since in this country artistic producers that dominate the sound Prog Power, don't exist then it is as that we had to get ready alone. 
In any way we are very satisfied with the obtained results if you keep in mind that you little expense and anything for the recording since made it in Perfect Symetry that is my mini recording study, that same disk in a big study has left about 10.000 dollars! 

The disk possesses 10 semi-conceptual songs. I would like that you make a brief comment of each one of the topics, explaining to us that they speak the topics and of how the composition was in the musical part. 
Ok. 

"Omen 1" ("Profecía 1"): it is the disk intro, it comes in a movie atmosphere and there is a 
sung fragment that it is unconcluded and it is completed in "La Profecía 2" at the end of the disk... I love that intro. 

"The Road" ("El Camino"): it is a topic in the vein Prog Power, but with a root in the style "Aces High" of Iron Maiden, quick and hardened, talks about the option that we have in the life, in making decisions... 

"Ghosts" ("Fantasma"): This is a beautiful song, it is but progressive and he has an atmosphere a so much Queensryche, talks about that disconnected that the human beings are, on the not very solidary ones that we are sometimes and the metaphor says that we are that... ghosts. 

"Wainting in Silence" ("Esperando en Silencio"): This topic talks about the death of our planet, of how we destroy it we that are its children, are a song in the vein but Rapshody and he has a gallop rhythmic type "Somewhere in Time" of Iron Maiden. 

"Another Life" ("Otra Vida"): it is the one that gives the name to the album. It is very progressive, but Dream Theater, Fates Warning, a very sweet refrain with electric and acoustic guitars... he talks about a second opportunity in our lives. In proving an and another time, in attempting... 

"Marcha de San Lorenzo": That one can say? A very powerful National song!!! 

"Words of the soul" ("Las Palabras de un Alma"): it is a conceptual topic of 25 minutes. A history on a man that wakes up with the blindfolded eyes and that they are not taking it toward some side and the he remembers because this there and there the movie begins... This very good one at musical level has many different parts as the history is developed. It is it but resemblance to a movie music but without image. 

"Easy Election" ("La Elección Facil"): it is a topic of gallop style Iron Maiden / Angra... it is the history of an old one that he talks about the mistaken decisions that I take in their life... 

"Tears of the Rain" ("Lagrimas de la Lluvia"): it is, maybe, the song but I am used Dream Theater of the disk, hard 10 minutes, so he has a wide development of rhythmic and you structure, but basically it is very melodic. In the lyric, the rain appears as metaphor of change. This is a song that I love. 

"Omen 2" ("Profecía 2"): it is the closing of "Profecía 1", in this part you continuous the story and there it closes the disk. 

How did the acceptance belong from the local public when presenting its material in English? 
I really, don't notice something against the English language, I believe that the listeners of this style know that the band always intent to be strained in the exterior and to show something of the Argentinean Prog Power in other sides. 

Was this material published in the exterior? 
We have had distribution offers but the contracts were a disaster... they are there also some pirates! We opt for not to sign and to follow the career in an independent way. 

In the 2002 a EP titled "Oscura Dimensión" that is an advance of what will be the next album of the band, publish and it is sung in Spanish. How will the disk be and why the language change? 
The new disk will be quite different to "Another". it Possesses a composition but modern if it is worth the I finish. It is less Power and but modern-progressive... but it won't lose neither the factor forces neither neither the melody, is simply a musical step toward before the band and mine, in the personal thing, since I am the composer of the music and the letters. 

How can you get your material? 
In music shops of Lomas de Zamora, in Lanús, or to order from mail or the page of the band. 
The new disk will be published professionally and we will try to put it in a lot but places of Buenos Aires. 

What future plans do you have? 
The first objective now is to make the disk. Then my intention is to arm a Damnation to leave to show the material, for that which I am looking for guitarists and interested drummers, but for sure they will be few presentations but of great quality, we don't want to give him to our I publish a show with 20 bands, that which I believe that it is an abuse to the I publish and to its hearings!!!
